Job Description:

The Audit and Control Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial integrity and compliance of the UA-MI Health Project in Balkh Province. This position is responsible for financial auditing, internal controls, and monitoring project expenditures to ensure adherence to donor guidelines and organizational policies. The Audit and Control Officer will work closely with the Audit and Control Officer and Finance Team to maintain accurate financial records and support the successful implementation of the project. He/She will be bases in Kabul office and will travel to UA-MI Health Project Office at Mazar-e-Sharif, when required.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Auditing:

  • Conduct regular financial audits to verify project expenditures.
  • Review financial documents, receipts, and records to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Compliance Management:

  • Ensure that project expenditures align with donor guidelines and internal policies.
  • Monitor and report any discrepancies, irregularities, or potential areas of concern.

Documentation and Record-Keeping:

  • Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records for the project.
  • Support finance team in preparing financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Budget Control:

  • Monitor and manage project budgets.
  • Address any budget variances and assist in the preparation of budget reports.

Internal Controls:

  • Implement and oversee internal control measures to prevent financial mismanagement.
  • Propose improvements in financial and accounting processes.

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with the Finance Team to ensure the accuracy of financial transactions.
