About Union Aid
Union Aid (UA) is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political humanitarian and development organization established by Dr. Toryalay Nassery (an Afghan scholar) in July 1979 in Peshawar, Pakistan. It was formed in response to the influx of refugees from Afghanistan and was the first/pioneer organization to serve the Afghan refugees in Pakistan. Union Aid implemented its activities mainly in refugee camps that later became villages, which was one of the biggest refugee camps in the world at that time. UA initiated its activities in Afghanistan in the 1981 and gradually expanded its services all over Afghanistan. UA started its activities with two doctors and two paramedical staff that gradually expanded to various programs, including:
Health Care & Nutrition: Establishment and management of hospitals and clinics, maternal and child health services, nutrition programs, family planning, as well as full sponsorship and specialized treatment of patients in European countries including Germany, Spain and Italy.
Food Security: Distribution of food items throughout the country.
Education: Literacy initiatives, school management, scholarships for students, and teacher training programs.
Livelihoods & Vocational Skills: Technical training, handicraft production, and employment generation activities to strengthen self-reliance.
WASH & Shelter: Provision of clean drinking water, sanitation facilities, hygiene promotion, and emergency shelters.
Emergency Response: Life-saving interventions including food and non-food distributions, winter relief packages, and rapid health responses during crises.
Agriculture & Environment: Tree plantation and afforestation initiatives to support sustainability and environmental resilience.
Protection: Women empowerment projects, orphanage centers, and demining project.
Cash Assistance: Continuous financial support for needy families and internally displaced persons (IDPs).

Program / Department Summary
General Position Summary
Considering the previous successful experiences in emergency response efforts, Union Aid is committed to reaching out to those in need and delivering quality humanitarian and emergency relief programs. In order to execute these aid services in an accountable way, we are seeking potential field supervisors to assist us in, but not limited to initiation of need and beneficiary assessments, utilizing the standard tools to identify the most vulnerable community members, affected by the disasters, in particular the recent earthquakes. Actively contribute to all efforts to make the relief packages’ distribution more effective. The team members will also be required to make the humanitarian work more visible by adhering to all visibility, and policies, including ethics and behavioral approaches considering the community and religious sensitivities.
The Field Facilitator position will be reporting directly to the Project Field Coordinator
- Assist the M&E team with initiating field assessments, of the earthquake-affected areas, by conducting the door-to-door assessments, under the baseline phase;
- Utilizing and using the M&E-developed tools during the assessment, make sure all the requested information during the assessment has been asked and the assessment form has been used in an accurate and realistic manner;
- Sharing the daily assessment incorporated forms through the management channels for analyzing consolidation and data entry.
- Actively participate and contribute to the site properness for the distribution port, including efforts to maintain discipline during the distribution.
- Contribution to beneficiary identification and authentication to ensure the beneficiaries are receiving the assistance items are those, who have been identified eligible as a result of the assessments, initiated previously.
- ensure all activities are coordinated with local authorities in a manner, not compromise the quality, of project activities planned according to the project documents and objectives;
- active participation and contribution to the distribution efforts, during unloading, sequencing, and maintaining discipline to prevent any issues during the distribution process.
- Executing the beneficiary confirmation process, on the distribution event, using the standard forms and documents to ensure the eligible beneficiaries receive the assistance items.
- Contribution to executing Endline Surveys to determine the success and effectiveness of projects, using the standard forms and M&E tools that will be developed by the M&E department.
- Ensure the Beneficiary satisfaction survey (CARM) Community Accountability and reporting mechanism, using the developed tools that will be used to determine the satisfactory level of Beneficiaries under the project, on Union Aid service’s delivery.
Team Management
- The Field Supervisors will be working jointly in team efforts, to coordinate and align the activities based on the requirements on the ground.
Influence & NETWORKING
- Maintain an internal network and communication channels to ensure all Union Aid staff are alerted on the incidents across the operational areas.Support the project management in overall activities of the project, from assessment to close-out, reporting, and satisfaction level of beneficiaries;
Security
- Ensure compliance with security procedures and policies and SOPs as determined by country leadership.
- Proactively ensure that team members operate in a secure environment and are aware of policies when required
INCIDENT REPORTING
- Maintain contextual awareness by establishing social media (secured) groups, and sharing incident updates with the staff, to increase awareness of threat mitigation.
- Help create an environment where all Union Aid programs and team members and businesses are conducted with professionalism, impartiality, accountability, and other core principles required as a humanitarian agency.
Job Requirements:
At least 12 grade graduate
Two years of experience working in and/or working in the security phase in fragile, insecure, and complex contexts.
Experience working with dighly developed interpersonal and communication skills required, including influencing, negotiation and coaching;
Strong management skills with a good understanding of managing international, and cross-cultural teams;
Fluent written and oral communication in English is required.
A strong understanding of conflict-sensitive program mainstreaming and gender or protection mainstreaming would be an advantage.
