Job Description:
- Screen all under five years old children and pregnant and lactating women for acute malnutrition
- Lead individual and group nutrition counseling sessions tailored to the needs of clients and caregivers
- Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control measures.
- Ensure accurate recording of nutrition information in the clinic registers and timely completion of summary reports.
- Record and carry out growth monitoring including height, weight, and MUAC measurement of all children under two years old.
- Deliver counseling for mothers/caregivers of all children under two years old on proper IYCF practices, prevention of infections, and community mobilization.
- Categorize all the children in Normal, Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) and Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM).
- Distributing of RUTF and RUSF for SAM and MAM-diagnosed children and Super-Cereal for PLWs with acute malnutrition.
- Reporting: Report daily activities, achievements, success stories/lessons learned, and challenges to the team leader daily.
- Health Promotion: Promote and raise awareness about the importance of proper nutrition and exclusive breastfeeding through community engagement activities.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with the Nutrition Officer and other healthcare staff to ensure a coordinated approach to service delivery.
- Fulfill any other assignment given by his/her supervisor
Job Requirements:
- Graduation form recognized faculty of Nursing
- At least two years work experience as Nutrition Nurse
- Dietitians, Ability to conduct awareness sessions, diagnoses and treatment of malnourished children, familiarity with BPHS
- Report writing skills, teamwork, good communication skills,
- Excellent command of local language (Dari /Pashto), Working knowledge of English Language
