Union Aid is a non-governmental organisation, registered under Societies Act 1860 in 2012. Union Aid was established by Dr. Toryalay Nassery and initiated its activities in health sector after its establishment in 1979 that formally commenced from 1980 with the prior permission from Ministry of SAFRON, Government of Pakistan. Union Aid is actively providing health care services, education, scholarships, vocational training and family support programs.
Job Description:
Position Overview:
The Program Advisor plays vital role in guiding and overseeing the implementation of development and humanitarian programs within Union Aid. This position requires a deep understanding of the organization's mission, objectives, and the socio-economic landscape of Afghanistan, particularly in relation to women, children, and persons with disabilities (PWDs). The Program Advisor collaborates closely with various stakeholders and donors agencies to ensure the effective design, execution, monitoring, and evaluation of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
- Contribute to the development and refinement of program strategies aligned with Union Aid's mission and goals.
- Identify emerging needs and opportunities in the development and humanitarian sectors, particularly focusing on vulnerable communities, women and children.
Program Development:
- Ensure program designs incorporate best practices, evidence-based approaches, and are tailored to the specific context and needs of target communities.
Technical Guidance and Support:
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams throughout the project lifecycle, including but not limited to sectors such as education, healthcare, livelihoods, and protection.
- Conduct regular field visits to provide hands-on support, troubleshoot challenges, and ensure quality implementation.
Capacity Building:
- Facilitate capacity-building initiatives for Union Aid staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in program management, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Foster a culture of learning and knowledge sharing within the organization.
Advocacy and Representation:
- Represent Union Aid in relevant coordination meetings, and forums at local, regional, and national levels.
- Advocate for needs of vulnerable populations, particularly women, children, and PWDs.
