Malteser International is the worldwide humanitarian relief agency of the Sovereign Order of Malta.

For over 60 years, they have provided relief and recovery during and following conflicts and disasters. Christian values and humanitarian principles form the foundations of their work: bringing aid to people regardless of their religion, background, or political convictions at over 100 Projects in more than 20 countries.

GIZ is a development agency headquartered in Bonn and Eschborn that provides services in the field of international development cooperation. GIZ mainly implements technical cooperation projects of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, its main commissioning party, although it also works with the private sector and other national and supranational government organisationson a public benefit basis.

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees is a United Nations programme with the mandate to protect refugees, forcibly displaced communities and stateless people, and assist in their voluntary repatriation, local integration or resettlement to a third country.

UNHCR now has more than 16,765 personnel,  work in a total of 138 countries and the budget, which in its first year was US$ 300,000, grew to US$ 6.54 billion in 2016.

The International Rescue Committee is a global humanitarian aid, relief, and development nongovernmental organisation. 

Founded in 1933 at the request of Albert Einstein, the IRC offers emergency aid and long-term assistance to refugees and those displaced by war, persecution, or natural disaster.

Ever since its inception in 1981, “Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe” has been committed to providing people in need with prompt, sustainable and long-term aid and support.
